Lacey, AKA Merci Rae, is an alternative model from Pittsburgh. She contacted me wanting to know if I might be interested in helping her update her portfolio. Certainly, I said yes. She wanted me to look through her online portfolio and make some suggestions to give her a stronger portfolio. Most of the images in Merci’s portfolio were pretty edgy, goth and gore were the overall themes. My suggestion was to go for something more feminine adding a little glamour while staying true to her personality. She liked the idea, so we set up the session.
Merci was a lot of fun to work with and I enjoyed getting to know her as well. Her modeling portfolio is very much like her personality. She’s edgy, likes walking the tightrope, and doesn’t care what others think. I got the impression she wasn’t someone you want to cross, but very loyal to her friends.
So my goal for the session was to show a softer, gentler, side of this lady. Many of the images were created with the softness done in the camera. I used different diffusers on the lens to give a soft glow to the images. Her wardrobe was pretty much how she likes to dress, but we went for some glamour to her edgy side. We both hope you enjoy the images we created.
